Scottish Botanists: The Connections Between Scotland and India

A panel will present on the deep and enduring botanical connections between Scotland and India, which span more than two centuries.

1. 1. Dr Henry Noltie – British Botanist
      • will talk on the Indian connections (via virtual participation)
   2. Dr Mark Watson – Head of Major Floras, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE)
      • will highlight some of the prominent personalities involved
   3. Dr Ashiho Mao, Director of the Botanical Survey of India (BSI)
      • will describe current works at the Botanic Gardens of Indian Republic, Noida, New Delhi and the AJC Bose Indian Botanic Garden, Howrah Kolkata

Location

This event will be held in the Lecture Theatre, located within the Science Building, of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Access this building through the Garden’s main reception on Inverleith Row.
