Biography
Annie Herington is a final year Chinese Studies and Modern History student at the University of St Andrews. She is dual citizen of the United States and United Kingdom raised across various countries including the UAE, Singapore, Romania, South Korea, France, and Germany.
Annie has studied abroad at National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University and Ewha Womans University. She has also completed intensive language courses and taught English overseas as a Fulbright-Hays, National Security Language Initiative and Huayu Scholar. She has also worked on various research projects at the University of St Andrews including the “Cultural History of the People’s Republic of China” project.
Her interest in US-China relations has led her to work for various organisations including the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Health, and United Nations House Scotland. Whilst at university, she has engaged with various student organisations such as the St Andrews Law Review, St Andrews Forest, and the Political Institute for Action Research. Additionally, as Vice President, she is also among the founders of the UK SETI Institute’s first student branch.
Annie seeks to build upon her knowledge and experience as she pursues a career in international relations.
