Biography
Josh is final-year student at the University of St Andrews, studying International Relations with a focus on Southeast Asian politics and Chinese foreign policy. Having grown up in South Korea and Malaysia as a British-New Zealander, he has gained a global perspective and a strong interest in international affairs and connectivity.
Josh recently completed a semester abroad at the University of Hong Kong, studying China’s global engagement and ASEAN relations. His research has explored topics including the evolution of Malaysia’s foreign policy, the Myanmar junta, and the refugee climate for different ethno-religious groups in Malaysia. Most recently, he collaborated with a Malaysian NGO on a project examining refugee deportations and trafficking between Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar.
