Biography

Sean studied in London and at St Andrews, where he researched global trade, focusing on UK-China commerce. 
 
Before he joined the Asia Scotland Institute, he worked as a bookseller and an analyst in the life sciences industry. While at ASI, Sean represented the Institute at events in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, working with partners across trade, finance and government; and collaborated on content strategy for the Institute, commissioning and editing new material for the website, and hosting the podcast. 
 
His professional interests include international trade and diplomacy, commodity markets and shipping. In his spare time, he likes to row, cook and read about Chinese and Russian history. 
 
He is currently on sabbatical in south China, and has temporarily stepped back from his duties as editor. He is no longer involved in event planning or the Institute publication process.
