
Biography
After his Bachelor Studies in International Politics and Spanish at the University of Stirling, Vegas started working for a Member of Parliament. He supports the MP in engaging with constituents by communicating on their behalf with government departments and local authorities.
His interests lie in the security sphere and the post-Soviet area, which has led him to attend educational programmes in Russia, Belarus and Georgia. Therefore he aims to pursue a career in the European sphere engaging with Russia, Central Asia and China.
As a University Representative for the Asia-Scotland Institute, Vegas has written on the Myanmar conflict, the Taliban’s foreign relations to its Central Asian neighbours and border conflicts between China, India and Bhutan in the Himalayas.
