The UK Economy In A Changing World

Event Description

This year marks the tercentenary of the father of economics, Adam Smith. In the three hundred years since he was born, the world has changed immeasurably. For the UK economy, the changes in the last five years alone have been profound: we have emerged from a world of low interest rates and inflation and left the EU, via several changes of prime minister, an energy crisis and a global pandemic.

We are privileged to have Liz Martins, Senior UK Economist at HSBC, who provides her expert analysis on the UK’s economic landscape in this volatile environment.

Topics Covered

  • Modern Challenges: Liz Martins will delve into the challenges and opportunities presented by changing demographics, climate, and technology in today’s economy.
  • New Economic Realities: How has the UK economy adapted to the seismic shifts brought about by Brexit, political changes, and global crises?
  • The Road Ahead: What can we expect in terms of economic changes in the near future? Are we prepared for what lies ahead?
